Tour Plan
Day 1. Paro
Arrival at Paro airport, transfer to hotel. Visit the Ta-Dzong in the afternoon built in the 17th century, as a watch tower to defend Paro Dzong below. This Dzong was later converted into the National Museum. Evening work in Paro town.
Day 2. Hike to Taktshang
Hike up to the Taksang Monastery (Tiger's nest) in the morning. The monastery where Guru Padmasambava landed on the back of a pregnant Tigress in the 8th century, and meditated for three months. The monastery was later built in this holy place in 1684.
Later in the afternoon visit to Rinpung Dzong and eveninig work in the town. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3. Thimphu
Drive to Thimphu that takes 1 hour. Thimphu sightseeing includes, National Memorial Chorten: This construction was originally the idea of Bhutan's third king, H.M. Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (“the father of modern Bhutan”), who wished to erect a monument to world peace and prosperity. After His Majesty’s untimely death in 1972, the Royal Family and Cabinet resolved to fulfill his wishes and erect a memorial that would perpetuate his memory and also serve as a monument to peace. The National Memorial Chorten was consecrated on July 28, 1974. Tashichhodzong houses ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat, and the central monk body. It is open to visitors during the Thimphu Tshechu (held in autumn). Folk Heritage and National Textile Museums: These museums provide fascinating insights into Bhutanese culture, material and way of life. Handicrafts shops: A variety of colorful, hand woven textiles and other craft products is available for purchase.

Day 4. Punakha
Drive to Punakha. An hour drive from Thimphu will take you to Dochula pass(3050 meters) and from here one can view the Eastern Himalayan ranges bordering Tibet on a clear and sunny day.Punakha was the old capital of Bhutan until 1955 and still serves as the winter resident of the monk body. Punakha Dzong is placed strategically at the junction of two rivers Phochu(male)and Mochu(female).
After Lunch drive to Wangdiphodrang, it takes 20 minutes. Stretched along the hilltop above the confluence of the Punakha Tshang Chu and Dang chu rivers. Later in the afternoon drive back to Thimphu for overnight stay.
Day 5. Phuentsholing
Drive down to Phuentsholing, on the way visit to Simtokha Dzong built in 1627.This now houses the Institute for Language and Culture Studies. 5 kms before arriving Phuentsholing visit Kharbandi Gompa, a temple built in 1967. Overnight at the hotel in Phuentsholing.
Day 6. Departure, Bagdora Airport
4 hours drive to Bagdogra airport for onward flight to destination.

Itinerary is always flexible if you are travelling in a smaller group. You have a choice of eating in a different restaurant, however, the menu depends on the chef and usually it is a set menu but not necessarily the same menu every day.

Bhutan is well connected and every town has IDD services. Internet cafes are available almost everywhere. Cell phones can also be used but you need to get Bhutan prepaid SIM Card and recharge it. Recharge vouchers are available at every second shop in town.
You can exchange money in the banks as well as in the hotels were you are staying. Rates will be better in the banks plus US$ is acceptable in almost all of the shops in town.

Bhutan is all season tourist destination for cultural tours. However the month of February, March, April, and September, October, November are considered the best time due to pleasant weather conditions. December and January are winter months and June, July and August, the rainy season. It is important to note that the climatic conditions during the winter months are not extreme. The average temperature would range from 10-17 degree Celsius during day time.
The money you have transferred will be with held by the Tourism Council of Bhutan till the day you depart. Travel Agents can only withdraw the money after your departure upon submitting your tour invoice. Therefore, your money is safe.

Except for travelers from India, Bangladesh and Maldives, all visitors to Bhutan are required to obtain visa approval prior to their arrival, which will be processed by us.
Tourism is not restricted but the minimum daily tariff is set by the government. It is also necessary that all tourists must come through a registered tour operator to plan your itinerary and process your visa. Tourist cannot come on their own unless they are invited guest.
Druk Air operates daily flight (once daily) from Bangkok (Thailand) and four flights a week from New Delhi, Kathmandu and Calcutta (India) and two flights a week from Dacca (Bangladesh). You can also enter Bhutan via Bagdogra Airport, Siliguri (West Bengal) in India. It has regular flights from New Delhi (twice daily).
Bhutan is connected to the outside world through Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines), the national carrier which is the only airline operating flights in and out of the kingdom.
